As usual, no information is given on what happened - just the result. Maybe a local will share more?

Tragedy in West Bay after diver dies
Tragedy struck again Cayman this morning after a pensioner got into distress while diving, and later died.

Shortly after 9.30 am (February 11), officers responded to a report of a person in distress at the West Bay Dock. A woman had been out diving when she encountered difficulties, lost consciousness, and was brought back to shore.

Emergency services rushed her to hospital via ambulance, where she was subsequently pronounced dead.

She was a 65-year-old visitor from the US.

Anything locals get before the medical work is done and family is notified is just conjecture anyway. It’s been a tough week here with visitors. There were pics/vid of the situation on the dock from one scurrilous news source. Local reaction is disgust and dismay and calling for action against the news source.
