Andaman sea conditions in Jan?

I'm thinking of going to take a trip to the Andaman sea later this month and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the current sea conditions are like and what's about average conditions for this time of year?
I had a couple of nasty weather trips last year, one with up to 40kph winds, and I don't want to start this year off with something similar

If you're talking about Phuket/Phi Phi/koh lanta/krabi, you should do well. It's the high/dry season. Lots of sun and good vis.
