After a busy 4th of July week and weekend, a friend and I decided to head to Beaver Lake for a day of diving. Our original plan was to use his pontoon boat to hit some of the dive sites out and around the lake. We planned to put in at Indian Creek State Park. Our plan quickly went by the wayside. Foiled by a dead battery, again
Time to improvise!
So off to the Dam Site Bluffs to SCUBA dive and explore some of the several boats, cars and other items folks have sunk. Our first dive we headed to the houseboat that sets in about 45. We found and followed the lines, to and through the houseboat, then on to a sunken forest, we got down to around 65 on the dive with a total dive time of a bit over 60 minutes. As reported by Avonthediver the visibility was great. Our second dive was shallower, and shorter, about 30 for 30 minutes. We saw lots of fish, sunfish, bass, walleye, catfish, and even a medium sized striper.
We ended up with 5 enjoyable dives for the day.
