using the onboard flash with no external strobe?

I've got a Canon A570IS with Canon housing but have not taken it down yet, wondering how well it could do without a strobe..

Thanks for sending the pictures, cant wait for our trip this summer. We still have not decided on a date yet because we want to take our grandson with us. Waiting to see what his schedule is going to be this summer. We will most likely go in August.
