Decided to buy a pair of shears to back up my knife. Went looking and got very confused they seemed to be ridiculously cheap.

Are any of them better SS or better quality than others? Want to put them in my BC and forget about them, don't want to get them out in a couple of years and find a rusted lump.

A name or store would be handy.

EMT shears are great for stainless steel leader and heavy monofilament, crappy for stranded line or bungee cord.

Crappy shears are great for stranded line or bungee cord.

Trilobite blades are nice for free line, but they seem a bit dicey to use around Miraflex tubing.

A knife is great if you can't get your cutting device around the object being cut.

It depends...

(Don't put anything into your BC and forget it. Maintenance is everything.)

-don't let cheap put you off if you are willing to maintain whatever you buy, for whatever purpose you expect...
