Are the sea bass at italian gardens this time of year?

I was considering heading over with a friend tomorrow to dive with the sea bass but i don't know how deep they go in the winter? will they be there?

help me out eh?

Buy a lottery ticket... your chances of winning are probably better than those of seeing a GSB there this time of year. They begin filtering in about late April or May and are usually gone by November.

I remember a trip in early March on a mainland dive boat that ended up at Catalina instead of San Clemente. As we anchored at Italian Gardens, I said to the DM that it was generally considered a mediocre dive site unless the GSB were there. The DM replied that there was a good chance I'd see a few. Sure.

Let's put it another way. I dive here at home all the time. I haven't seen a GSB all winter although some do stick around during the winter.
