Are transmitters interchangeable across brands?

Thinking about buying new computer but don’t want to buy transmitter unnecessarily.

No, there are several different transmitters, not interchangeable, but the ones made by PPS will work with Oceanic, Shearwater, Aires, Hollis, AquaLung, Tusa Sherwood. A large number of brands.

Have Oceanic Atom 2.0 (aging myself here]. Not sure what to get, but given your answer probably stay with Oceanic.

Oceanic, AquaLung, Shearwater.
If you MUST have some other brand you'll find that it is very easy to sell your current transmitter.

Get one, you won't regret it. Sounds like you have a bit of age about you so if you're eyes are getting tired, get the Perdix.

Should be no problem. As long as the transmitter has MH8A on it, it will work with the PPS brands listed above. There is also a sticky at the top of this forum with a complete list of which brands work with PPS and which use proprietary transmitters.

For the record, I’m using the transmitter that came with my Oceanic VT4.1 with my SW Perdix AI.
