Announcing DigiGreen for Green Water Photographers

Digigreen is a Community site specifically for those photographers that dive in the Temperate zones of the world were the water is often green and a little murky. Now whilst we love to dive in clear blue water we have to accept that we dive most the year around our local shores and that often mean low viz, drysuits, cold hands - basically lots of extra considerations that make the photography more demanding.

The Digigreen site has been running now for 18 months but has recently been given a considerable polish. The site incorporates a community forum using the industry standard vBulletin software and a slick gallery which members can use. Guests can, of course, visit the site to read the posts and see the photos posted but some of the features will not be available until you register. New to the site is a book and DVD shop through an affiliation with Amazon. Here you will find preselected titles of interest to the Underwater Photogrpaher but you can search for other items from here also.
All of this is wrapped in a clean and slick userface which everybody should find easy to use.

But it doesn't stop there. We are now part of the Diving Network; incorporating Yorkshire Divers (the largest diving internet forum in the UK), Travel Dive (providing articles about diving worldwide), Shadow Divers (for those technically minded) and The Deepstop (a host for diver's blogs - and why not add your own?). You will find easy links for all of our partners within the Network on the Home page. If you are not already familiar with these sites go and take a look!

Recognising that photo competitions are now everywhere, Digigreen has chosen not to follow this route. Instead, we have a Monthly Challenge where members are given a theme, which they can interpret as they wish, and then go out and capture their photos for posting on the thread. There are no winners, but by having a brief and seeing the result of others we think you will learn and develop your own style.

Digigreen can be found at www.digigreen.net Come and take a look and, if you like it, register, post an intro and show us what you can do.

Regards,

Tim
