Notice is hereby given that The Artificial Reef Society of BC of 1905 Ogden Ave. Vancouver BC V6J 1A3 intends on this 6th day of August, 2014 to apply to Environment Canada for a Disposal At Sea Permit under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act , 1999, to load 2,880 tons of the Former HMCS Annapolis decommissioned destroyer escort navy vessel at load site: Long Bay, Gambier Island. To dispose of at sea at: Halkett Bay Provincial Marine Park Gambier Island, W123 19 51.1 N49 26 55.0 by the following method: flooding by controlled linear shape charge explosives. It is proposed that loading and disposal activities will begin on: October 1, 2014 and will terminate on: September 30, 2015.
