This was an educational day, but not particularly pleasant. It's a long, cross-swell rolling ride from San Pedro sent a couple of people to the rail. My kudos to Capt. Drew (Sea Bass) for his expertise in quick, perfect positioning. Overall the dive was interesting, I saw many "gray" fish, a bat ray on the 2nd dive, and a seal. The pinnacles arising from the deep are a sight. The surface current really came up by the third dive, although below 60' it was not bad. Hanging on the anchor line at 15' for 3" was not my idea of fun. Getting back on the boat was a test. The long ride back was not as rolling, but it was a lot rougher, and we were back by 3.

Well, after such a great night dive at Heisler earlier this week, today was a little disappointing in terms of the sea life activity. Did find a little octo with an empty shell on top of him which was kinda cool. And, we found a ton of trash including a kite, a fork, a miniature plastic toy sword, a minute maid lemonade packet, some yellow plastic, a smattering of misc paper and some kind of a alien conglomeration in the shape of a blob that Mike picked up. Overall, viz and conditions were good. We popped up after an hour to see where we were, then decided to drop back down and head for the reef at Diver's Cove. Here, we came across a giant bat ray with about a 5'+ wingspan, a shovelnose guitarfish, and a C-O sole. The bat ray made the whole dive worthwhile. Ended with a breakfast burrito at Husky Boy, and the familiar faces of So Coast Divers who appeared in droves.
