Anyone planning on participating in the Avalon underwater clean up this year?? If so, perhaps we should organize a group like we did earlier this month to head to Catalina.

I know it is not the funnest diving to do, but it is for a good cause.

I'll be there...probably working. Why don't you pick a location -- Green Pier, Step Beach, or Casino? The Casino entry/exit is a little challenging...

Kelpmermaid,
Any suggestions on location? Any of the three more interesting than the others???

We need some inside scoop... where's the place with the interesting and funky stuff? Likely over in the harbor area, right? I'm thinking between the pier and the Point.

But what the heck do I know...

The Green Pier gets a lot of pedestrian traffic and there is a dinghy dock, so all kinds of things get dropped into the water. The Step Beach area is primarily under the moorings...and tipsy boaters returning after a night on the town drop oodles of interesting things, too. As for the Casino area (inside the harbor,) there is a dock there where things can go overboard, and it is the most convenient location for anyone wanting to move on to the park afterwards. As mentioned, the in/out are not as easy. This is what it looked like last year:

Hubby and I are going to be there for the whole weekend, arriving Friday and staying til Sunday. We rented a house with others from our dive club. Our club is doing the Casino location, although after seeing KM's picture of all those rocks, I am wondering whether to sign up for that locale. I cannot even negotiate stairs! :bonk: Do ya think I will find my mask and snorkle while there? J/K!

Anyone else planning to be there longer than just Saturday? Fun, fun, fun!

I think thinking on taking the wife over and stay staurday night, heck maybe we'll even bring the kid so he can trip out on all the divers going in the water at the same time. That will be a sight!
FUN FUN FUN!
