Battery recommendation for Ikelite DS-51?

Getting one delivered in a day or two and will be using it this weekend off Santa Barbara.

Was wondering if anyone had good/bad experience with any particular battery set-ups? NiCad vs NiMH?

Ok, so far the consensus is MAHAs...

They have always worked well for me. If you don't over charge them they seem to last along time.

I concur on the maha's, using the 2700 AA's now, they're great, have used the 12,000 D's before (in 100a strobes) with no problems.

for a AA only charger, the new MH-C9000 is very nice (got one cycling some batteries at the moment) if you need larger cell sizes, the 808-M is the way to go (AAA-D sized, 8 cells at a shot, each independantly).
