I'm a Fish!
Bayahibe has a new wreck.
Yesterday afternoon sunk in only 35 min. a ship right in front of the dive center Gri Gri Divers in the hotel dreams in Bayahibe DR. The ship is more or less 120 feet long and stays in a depth of 60 feet in a very nice spot. The ship was parkt there for a couple of month to get rebuild. Now it is a new dive spot. We will go diving today again to get you updated.

Wreck update:
The wreck is only in a max. depth of 36 feet. The shallow part on top is in 6 feet. Sitting upride on a coral reef.
Not so much dirt comes out.
We have to secure the doors and cut cabels and wires.

Six feet deep sounds like a hazard. It must not be near any navigable water. What type of ship is it? Love to see photos when you get some.

A few years ago one sank right in front of our dive centre on Koh Tao, Thailand. A 300 ton, 120ft freighter/car ferry, she lay on her side in 27m, perfect!

Then the next week a barge came and picked her up,and she was working again a few weeks after that.

Hope yours stays

You can see some pictures from the next day it was sunk, and then from couple more dives after. Unfortunatelly the ship is not too deep and the current and waves are destroying it very fast.
