Question BCD size for cold-water diving & steel tanks

Sounds like it might be a good idea to look for a slightly larger one. If it's borderline and I'm trying to get used to a drysuit and a new area, it's probably not a good time to be struggling with buoyancy as well.

Hi,

You find a buoyancy-calculator here. My 12 liter, 200 bar Faber steel tanks weighs around 12.5 kg. That results in saltwater in -1.36 kg buoyancy per tank when full and 1.51 kg when completely empty. It is a little more in freshwater but my xdeep classic can handle the negative buoyancy and the weight, 6 kg - 9 kg depending on undersuit without problem.
