I've been using my camera only off boats so far (except in Bonaire) and know how to get on and off boats OK, and also shore diving in Bonaire.

However, I want to start taking my old camera beach diving here in California, and the entries are a completely different story.

What is the best way to enter the surf with a point and shoot camera with a strobe?

I'm thinking that I should clip it to me somehow so my hands are free, but what do you do?

I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks,

Wally

I clip it and hold the camera in one hand, fins in the other. Then when I can float to put my fins on, I let the camera lay on my belly or between my legs, hanging from the coiled tether.

Thanks Larry.

I was thinking I needed to clip it completely to my BC somehow, and then after putting on the fins unclip it and start the dive.

I'll try you suggestion.

Wally
