Hi everyone, I'm a backpacker from Belgium who did some diving during my travels. Now I'm in Australia and would like to do some diving in the great barrier Reef and would like to get some more info about this, I'm sure I'll find my answer on this forum. I'll make a post under the Australian section of this forum, I'll see you there. Cheers

Welcome to ScubaBoard! Will anxiously await your posts pre- and post- Great Barrier Reef!

There are several dive boats operating out of Port Douglas north of Cairns. I suggest that you head up there. Plenty of accommodation and backpackers. It’s about 1.5 hours by boat to the outer reefs where the best diving is found.

enjoy!
