Talking a dive trip to Belize in June. Anyone have recommendations on where to go or a dive shop to contact?

Hi Kyle,

Where in Belize are you going?

Best regards.

I will be staying in Corozal City. I am with my church group, but want to get in some dives during the week I am there. I may go a day or so early to get in some additional dives.

Hi Kyle,

You'll be a bit removed from the diving scene. You best bet is to get out to Ambergis Cay. Contact Hugh at http://www.belizediving.com/. Tell him I sent you. He may some thoughts.

Have a great trip.

Beautfull country and beautiful people - Enjoy yourself

Thanks for the advice. At this point I am planning on going to Ambergris Cay. I understand it is about a 15 min flight from where I am staying in Corozal City.

I am hoping to go down a few days early with my sons and stay on Ambergris Cay. Then we will take a few day trips back during our week in Corazal City.

Two of my sons are newly certified (ages 12 & 14), so I am looking for some fairly easy dive sites.

Hi

Yes Corozal is an easy 15 minute flight to San Pedro town, there is a small airstrip located just out of town and both Maya island air and tropic air fly to Ambergris daily in the morning at 8am and in the afternoon at 3pm and 4.30pm.

And fly to Corozal at 7am from Ambergris and again late afternoon daily

You can contact each of these airlines at the following

Maya Island Air

http://www.ambergriscaye.com/islandair/index.html

Tropic Air

http://www.ambergriscaye.com/tropicair/index.html

Both allow online reservations

A few easy divesites for your sons is probably Mexico rocks on the inside as the first one to get them comfortable and then tackle the outside of the reef.

The weather should be good the time you will be here so outside the reef should not be a problem once they have dove the first dive.

Have a great time and
