I was told to buy Kevlar gloves to go Lobstering, but there are a number of specifications to pick from. Can anyone recommend a particular style/thickness for lobstering here in FL?

I don't think you need them. I just use gloves with a leather palm. The lobster don't have claws so its not like they are going to hurt you.
