bikini vs caribbean

got a chance to go to bikini atoll

but....

from what i read:
it muchly involves deco dives, limiting how many you can do in a day
it is a loong plane ride
it is expensive

i could do a liveaboard much faster, cheaper and get many more dives in

how would any of you view these choices?

Are you qualified to conduct stage decompression dives? If not they would be trust-me dives so the question then becomes...do you trus any one that much?

Take a deco course and go to Bikini.

I would not hesitate for a second. . . Bikini all the way. Take the course and jump on a plane you may never get the chance to do it again.

i just got the itinerary

2 days there / 2 back
7 diving

probably 6-7k by the time it's over

after negotiations with my family unit even more gazpachos

maybe too much time off
we'll see

If given the opportunity to go to bikini atoll, I'd jump on it. You can see coral reefs at any tropical dive location, compared to the history and wrecks at bikini.
