We are doing a cruise to the Bahamas in October. We will be doing 3 shore excursions, (2 snorkel and 1 dive), that will be booked through the cruise ship. Should we wait until on board to book them or book on line? Do we stand a chance of not getting a spot on the trip if we wait till on board, or do they usually have plenty of room?

Whenever we cruise, we book our excursions on-line as far in advance as possible. That assures us of getting spots and since you can chance or cancel anytime, its one less hassle when we board the ship.

Of course since finding the liveaboard lifestyle, we don't see a big commercial cruise happening anytime in our future.

If you know you want to use those specific ship excursions, book online in advance. There are only so many spots on the boats, and when they're gone, they're gone. You don't want to be disappointed.

Most lines also allow cancellations up to a certain date.
