I assembled a BPW set up for my wife recently. She likes purple, so she got purple webbing.

I used:
SoprasSUB wing and inflator
DGX Cumberbund,
DiveRite D-ring/triglides
Hollis Pad
Scuba-Tec (stainless black) STA
DGX Cam-Band
BlackHawk duty-belt buckle
Scubapro ditchable weight pockets
Bicycle inter-tube
Scuba-Choice alum. backplate (purple)
Hazard4 deluxe shoulder pads

Feedback, suggestions, please give any ideas that you have, especially saftey concerns. She hasn’t dove it yet, and I intend to do a shakedown in the pool first.

PS, I realize this isn’t pure DIR, because I have no crotch strap, and I added padding, weightpockts, and used the wrong buckle.

So, fire away guys!

Nice job RyanTaylor. It is DIR in my book (as DIR = Doing it Relaxed) and you just did it that way. So enjoy.:)

Where did you get the purple webbing??? I want!!

Get a crotch strap. I wouldn’t dive my BP/W without one.

Looks great. I was unaware DGX made a cumberbund.

Happy diving!

How stable is the tank with only one cam band?

Does your wife like it? :)
Good question, she vowed to tear it apart and have it rebuilt if she was unhappy with any part of it. Lol. A position that I thourogly support. She needs to be totally comfortable with her own life support equipment. So-far she’s impressed with the way it looks. But until we test & adjust/ modifying she won’t really know!

Not really, I have two for it.
Before the pictures I had both of them on.
I was surprised, I thought the STA would align the tank perfectly with the plate, but without both can bands, you can strap the tank on crooked if you’re not intentional about getting it straight.

Realistically, the only place both bands matter is walking around the boat. Once you’re in the water, you could proablay keep the tank in place with a ziptie.

I just can’t decide if it’s worth the trouble of a second band. That’s totally up to my wife!
