I like wearing my octopus around my neck, but in warm water it rubs my neck. Surgical tubing just seems like it would aggravate my neck and rip out my hair after a week of several dives a day. Any suggestions for materials?

Along the same lines but probably a slightly different solution: My husband also experiences that his wrists get rubbed from the bungee mounted compass boot. Any suggestions for material or patterns to make a neoprene or padded wrist strap?

You are diving with bare skin on your neck area in Alaska?
I have mine bungeed with 1/8" bungee cord rather than surgical tubing.

You are hilarious.. No I dive with a bare neck in warm water. Mine is the 1/8" cord as well and it irritates my skin after several days of repetitive diving. In cold water, everything is perfect because nothing is exposed. .
