Buying Used Tanks - Reasonable Price / Considerations?

Someone on craigslist here was advertising 4 scuba tanks.. they professed they weren't quite sure what they had (story was some old roommate left them or whatever).

Thoughts? Am I too risk averse? :wink: Obviously if I could have seen them and they looked cherry I would have probably paid $50 but sight-unseen offer? Nahh...

P.S. If there are other common considerations in buying used tanks beyond what is above I welcome your input.

You are not too risk adverse if you are not allowed to look at the tanks.

I won't buy a used tank without looking at it, especially if the seller "doesn't know what they have". Bring a light and mirror and do your own vis if you are ready to buy. As for the cost of maintaining a tank, it is an ongoing expense of owning tanks.
