What Baja Offers?
The Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park is located about 45 miles north of San Jose del Cabo on the eastern cape of Baja. The abundant coral growth on the rocky reefs provides a safe shelter and food for countless colorful reef fishes, many of which are found nowhere else on the planet. The marine boundaries are Bahia Las Barracas to the north and Bahia Los Frailes to the south, covering approximately 7,111 hectares. This nutrient rich water results in a profusion of plankton that forms the base of a vast food web of invertebrates, fishes, birds and mammals making the Sea of Cortez one of the most productive waters in the world. There is know other place in the world like this. The amount of life you will see under water you will not experience any where in the world. Not only that you can stop and surf on the way there.

Costa Azul surf break also known as “Zippers” is known for its fast waves for the more advanced surfer. Two more breaks exist close by. The Rock is best for intermediate surfers and Acapulquito beach is recommended for beginners or long boarders. Playa Acapulquito is a reef break with mostly rights. Playa Acapulquito is in front of the Cabo Surf Hotel. Playa Acapulquito is a great place to learn, just be aware that there are the occasional rocks. Since Playa Acapulquito is so easy to find, it gets crowded especially on weekends. Playa Acapulquito breaks good on summer South swells. Playa Acapulquito is the first of the Costa Azul breaks. Costa Azul is the bay that holds the best and most famous surf spots in all of Baja Sur, Playa Acapulquito, The Rock and Zippers. This area in the winter time is calm for Paddle boarders and good for kids.
Surfing Tournament at Costa Azul is June 17 to the 23. Hope to see everyone there on those dates. Las Olas A-600 . Costa Azul Surf Break. San Jose del Cabo, Baja California. Cabo San Lucas - YouTube
