I just don't log dives
Well I finally did it. I got tired of surface swims and went and picked me up a new(ish) boat. Of course my wife hasn't been this upset with me since she realized how much I spent on all of me dive gear, but I'm sure she'll get over it.

The new lil' Belafonte is an older Zodiac MKIII center console. Now I have a reason to boat in my red cap and speedos:wink:

It will be OK once your wife's friends explain the basic rule of boating expenses for married men:
For Every dollar you spend on the boat (equipment, repairs, fuel, improvements, etc.) you have to spend one on her ( jewelry, home decorating, perfume, etc).

Hmmm, you do that too?

She may get over it, maybe not. How do you feel about living alone?

Nice boat, very nice.

I had a MK II years ago, great little boats, you will love it.

Congratulations on your new Boat!!!

Your wife will definitely get over it.

My wife was having one of those "Candle Parties" with about 50 women at the house (trying to burn it down) when I went out and bought a 16' RIB (ex Canadian Coast Guard). As the ladies were leaving, she stomped in and said, "what the hell is that big orange thing in the driveway".... :lotsalove:

She doesn't have candle parties any more and learned to love the boat(s)

You have the wrong wife . . . If you had the right one, SHE would have bought the boat (I did!) :D

My wife gave the okay but I will never see another birthday or Christmas Gift and I have not had the grapes to suggest an new etec:D. Play it slow, I have been told they forget eventually. I love my rib, we go out in all kinds of weather with the security of balloons surrounding us. Just like being 18 again. Check out ribnet.com forum alot of questions answered about all subjects to do with ribs

See.... ya gotta get a diving wife.... Mine bought me a 23' Trophy walk around so SHE could dive in style. The only problem I now have is the reminders thats its her boat (until its time to wash and wax it) LOL

Perhapps you can relay our story to your wife.

My wife's brother became ill, 2 years ago, after 4 months of screwing around his GP finally referrred him to a specialist.
He had bone cancer. He died 8 months later at the age of 66. He spent his last 3 months, bed ridden doped up on morphin for the pain.
My wife and I were his estate executors.
After we finally got everything settled and finalized, (this took a year) my wife looked at me one evening last summer & said, "you've always wanted a boat & life is too short, so let's get one".
We talked it over for a month or so then spent another 3 months looking for something that fit our needs, & we bought a boat.

My only regret is it took the death of my brother-in-law for us to come to our conclusion.
