As y'all might have figured out by now, I am fascinated by local history. That is why I wrote my latest book, The True History of Cancun.

This book will take you through Cancun's history from the age of the dinosaurs up to the creation of the tourist destination we know today. Read the TRUE history of the ancient Maya, the Spanish conquistadores, pirates, dyewood cutters, Cruzoob rebels, chicle colonists, and others who lived in and around Cancun. Read about the crazy way the city was planned and the mistakes the designers made along the way. Follow the design and construction process from the first sketch on a napkin (image of the napkin included in the book), through the misguided street planning they called "platos rotos" (broken plates), through the time they realized they forgot to make worker housing, and all the rest of the missteps they made along the way. This is not a rehashing of old myths and fables that you get from tour guides; this is an extremely well-researched work that tells you the true story of Cancun.

Available on Amazon books as an eBook as well as a paperback at:
