Has anyone stayed in a rental house called Casa Aleksandrit in Bonaire? It is in the Santa Barbara area. It is rented through VRBO, and looks pretty nice on their web page with good pricing too.

If this sounds familiar, or you know of other good vacation rentals at good prices, I'd really like to hear about them.

Thanks for your input. BK

hello,
it's been a long time since you posted your question but you might still need an answer, so, here it is.
We stayed in Casa Aleksandrit in Feb. 2008 and found it to be very nice accommodation in convenient place. Santa Barbara is centraly located, so it's good start point for trips around island. Casa Aleksandrit is spacious enough max. for 2 adults and kid. The interior is modest but pretty well kept and you'll find there almost everything you need. The nicest thing about casa is a swimming pool. guests of casa have to share it with people staying in the main house (next to casa), if there're any, but it's not a big problem.
If situation of the main house and cas has not changed after since Feb. 2008, you shoul have in mind that both buildings with land are for sale. You may meet from time to time people visiting the house to see how it looks like. If you decide to stay there and it happens that your host is Ginger, Dutch who managed the house when we were there, I suggest you're cautious with him. At the beginning he seems to be very friendly and hospitable but later on his atittude becomes more and more commercial. At least he acted like this when we were there. Even though however, I still think that it was good choice, particularly because of price which was much lower than other accommodations on the island, offering comparable standart.
Here you'll find our pictures from Bonaire, also from Casa Aleksandrit:
