I just picked up a new SLT-A55, and was hoping to use it with my Sigma Lenses.
I was surprised when it did not work!
Two things were sometimes happening after taking a shot:
1. A "Camera Error" would appear
2. The camera would lose the ability to autofocus and image on camera looked dark.
This would happen more often at the high F-stop settings.
After quite a bit of digging around I found this, Notice to Sony ƒ¿33 and ƒ¿55 owners using Sigma's Sony fit lenses - SIGMA CORPORATION
I contacted Sigma in Thailand and they were quite happy to modify all 4 of my lenses (as stated) free of charge.
So - if your going to pick up a new A33/55 make sure your Sigma Lenses are updated!
I did manage to get some time underwater with it, and so far it's interesting......
The two pics attached are the very first time I have ever tried "in camera" Panorama and Manual White balance. (One is Horizontal Scan, the other Horizontal scan in Portrait mode). Not my best work but something to work on.
