We had a wonderful dive today. This was a bit surprising given the wind. Wind was not messing with the vis much at all this morning though there were some whitecaps 1'-2' or so. We had 15' on the plane, ski boat and rocks and 8' or so on the 80' and 100' walls. We always complain that we do not see much fish during the winter, but today was a rather "fishy" dive. Most of the fish were on the small side, but there were a number of schools. We were even seeing them deep, laying on the bottom, moving off as we approached. We started on the plane, then dropped to the wing tank and headed to the 80' wall. Downward from the 80' wall on the way to the 100' wall we saw a big cat - maybe the same one that I cut free from the stump on the 80' wall a couple of weeks ago. He was just laying on the bottom and didn't seem interested in moving off from us for quite a bit. We did the first part of the 100' wall, went up through the trees, the trench , past the angel statue, 30' ledge, then back down to the 3 big rocks and back to the plane and ski boat before a long safety stop on the way back to shore. At about 15' of depth on the way back we ran into a huge school of the herring and swam with them for a few minutes. A great dive, one of the better lake dives lately. Water temp was 47 at the coldest, dive time was 50 min, max depth 105'. A little chilled at the end (we are diving wetsuits), but a nice day. We are diving the lake again tomorrow at 1pm
