Hope I have the right forum now, have been wandering.

Am new to diving and will be in Anna Maria Island area Jan and Feb of 07 looking for property.

Want to join a dive club or get some dive buddies.

My hubbie is a "beach baby" but I .... well I am not. Will be looking to dive. Something good comes up sooner may be able to get there for a day or two.

Hope to pick up friends from the forum and not be such a stranger when I get there.

lol, don't worry .. we're all confused as to what goes where

i'm sure some locals will come along shortly!

not being a local, i can tell you that you can dive Venice to the south
for fossils and teeth.

to your north is Crystal River. it makes for a great winter snorkel with
the manatees, and you can dive a few springs in the area.

also close by is Rainbow River. it's a nice, shallow drift dive.

Ned DeLoache's Underwater FLorida is a great resource to find
spots of interest near you.

Welcome to the board. Lots of good people here.
