I am comming to orlando area in october, is there anywhere along the space coast or near orlando to get in the water for a dive?

you can dive in the Aquarium at Epcot and never leave the Orlando area.

Mike is right - I think it is called Dive Quest.

There are also some springs to dive - Blue Springs is pretty close.

Yes there are several. Just do a google search for Daytona/Melbourne/Cocoa area. I lived in Orlando for about 3 years and greatly preferred to head to Ft Lauderdale area for my dives (3-3.5 hr drive, WORTH IT!).

The springs are neat for about 20 minutes then get boring. I only did one trip out of Cocoa area and while the diving was great I didn't care for the operator (personality conflict, not safety related). Good luck!

hey thanks i did the epcot dive 2 yrs ago, it was pretty good, just not sure i can bring myself to paying that much to do it again. is there any good reefs, or wrecks near cocoa beach, or daytona areas? also would need a dive buddy. thanks

Blake, there isn't much to see shore diving north of the Sebastian area. There is some great stuff to dive south of Sebastian but viz is usually crapolla. Your best bet is watching the weather and monitoring surf cams for calm seas and recent west winds. Your best bet is from Ft. pierce and south under those conditions. A little searching in the main Florida forum will find several spots, parking situations, ect.... I usually wind up driving a couple hours south for beach diving.

I have never done a dive at this location, just snorkeled. Not sure if it is really even worth a dive.

Blue Heron bridge in West Palm is a great dive but timing the tide is key to diving it, high/slack is the time. Arrive early and be ready before the tide slows down. More info on this location in the Florida forum as well.
