Definitely the most common eel in cozumel. Seems like every coral head has one hanging out of a crack.

This was 2 trips ago & taught me never to think I can stick my camera into their face.

And when the DM wasn't giving it up easily it showed just how powerful it was.

In no time at all the Eel had cleaned the spear of the Lionfish.

I am always giddy about spotting eels. Although I have to admit that I am partial to the sharptails and green moray's. The spotted ones can be somewhat pissy....

This one was having a bad day. The spotted eels seem to be more uptight and aggressive than Green Morays.

that's a Golden eel, not a Spotted.
You can tell the difference because a Spotted is white with brown/black spots.
A Golden is brown/yellow with yellow/white spots.
Yea, I knew better too- but it is a moray- with spots...:wink:
