Still my favorite of all my puffer pics because it shows their playfulness... this guy playing cat and mouse with me in the turtle grass on a shore dive between FA and the Money Bar.

yes, they do play cat and mouse... many divers don't even see them as they are swimming right by too fast. Another reason to GO SLOW. Because of their coloration, it is easy for them to hide in the shallows, just like in driftin' by's photo. And as I mentioned earlier, if you stop and do not swim towards them, they will get curious and come right up to you to check YOU out. Really, try it next time!!
