I found remnants of the Van Valkenburg at Cave Point County Park in Door County, WI. There is a small section of hull buried in the rocks, and iron spikes, chainplates, ect, scattered within 100 yards of the cliffs. No sign of the keel. The wreckage starts at the rock shelf and extends south into Whitefish Dunes State park.

Depths are easy snorkel, real shallow scuba. You will get currents running either north or south, and there are a few rip areas to the south. Dive only with waves less than a foot, as they can pound you. Viz can go from 0 (with green slime) to 50+ or better. Temps 30's to 70's, and sometimes the thermocline can be at the surface in summer with west winds.

The rock shelves to the north are a good scuba/snorkel too.

Video frames showing hull fragment and and chunk of cable.
