Can anyone recommend one of these over the other?

DAN seems better known but is more expensive than Diveassure and does not offer the same level of cover.

Thanks in advance.
Jim

DAN all the way. Just look at the differences between DAN and the others and I believe the cost of DAN will save you in the long run.

Hmmmmmmmm

Not convinced, Anna!

This is what DAN Europe offers for it's Master Membership
Medical transportation, Hospitalization & Hyperbaric treatment E62,000

Cost of diving medicine specialists related to the emergency treatment E3,200

Extra expenses incurred for hotel and air fare caused by a prolonged forced stay following the underwater accident E4,200

Loss of diving gear left on site of claimable accident E2,000

Civil liability towards thirds parties E155,000

Permanent invalidity E62,000

Death E36,500

ANNUAL PREMIUM E139

1 euro = $1 or as nearest can do.

This is what Diveassure offers for it's Platinum plan:

Policy Cover Gold Plan Platinum Plan
Medical expenses and policy limit in all. $250,000
Death. $ 25,000
Total and permanent Disability. $ 25,000
Repatriation of remains. $ 10,000
Extra Expenses. $ 6,000
Loss of personal diving equipment. $ 4,000
Depth Limit. Not Restricted
ANNUAL PREMIUM: $85

Seems to me that Diveassure's Platinum plan is a much better all round policy....

Regards
Jim

The very first LINE Hyperbaric treatment , where is it in your other choice????????

Rich :mean:

I had the same question when I was deciding who to go with. After researching and asking those I trusted, I decided on DAN. As was pointed out to me, DAN is known worldwide and is the leader in Diver research. The price is reasonable and the coverage very adequate. I have the DAN Preferred Plan.

DAN for all the reasons above and to me the main one, they use the money they make to do more research that helps us all, rather than just making profit for some uncaring insurance company. Besides, DAN is just down the street from me and if I need a chamber, they are the ones I am going to see.
I did see a post on a Bonaire board about a person who need non-diving medical help on Boanire. The hospital would only accept 3 methods of payment....cash, credit card or a DAN insurance card...hearsay I admitt, but I bet it's true.
