How about this..

Ilive on Teneriffe ( Canary islands ) and the only Decochambre there is on this island is in La Laguna that is 850 mtrs above seelevel. If they have to take you there by Helicopter they have to take you to los Rodeos Airport first..as the Hospital has no helipad. Los rodeos is 1200mtrs. Over seelevel and 20 min. drive from the Hospital

What do you think about this Folks???

It is less than the best arrangement - a trip to 1200 M is equivalent to adding another three feet of water to your ascent (and to your dive depth) - however, the old addage "any port in a storm" applies.

As Dr. Murchison has stated you have no choice but to get to the chamber as quickly as possible.

Although minimal, there would be a risk of worsening a decompression accident with the drive over 3960 feet. 100% oxygen should be given, and all accident management parameters instituted en route. See downloadable site at http://www.scuba-doc.com/download/divaccman.zip for a Power Point Presentation.
