Properly used, dive scooters can expand your abilities in dive duration and repetition of deeper breath hold dives. There are precautions that should be observed of course, scooters can stop running, you can go too deep or stay too long, there are DCS issues and more to be considered. Carrying a pony bottle just in case is a good idea. Still, the expanded mobility and ease can provide an incredible experience.
There is a video of scooter free diving along one of the walls in Cayman from 60 to 125 ft. from a few weeks ago at the link below. Most of the video footage was shot by the free diver on the scooter giving things a diver's perspective. The Apollo Evolution scooter allowed hands free operation making the shooting of video easy during the dives.
