I just read over in the DIR forum that a DIR-F class is being offered in Kona mid March. If anyone is interested in a second class on Maui - we need to "act now" (If at all possible I'm going to Kona otherwise lol)

So this is a dual post

1) If you are interested in DIR-F in Kona see this thread http://www.scubaboard.com/t86026-.html

2) If you are interested in DIR-F on Maui - Please PM me right away so we can request a class right before or afterwards (this will help cut costs down for both classes as there are more students to share the expense of bringing an instructor over - in this case Joe Talavera of http://www.subtidal.net . . .

Aloha, Tim

P.S. if you don't know what DIR-F is check out the DIR forum on Scubaboard - it's full of info. http://www.scubaboard.com/forumdisplay.php?f=166

Looks like I'm heading to Kona for DIR-F :D Does anyone know of any "DIR inclined" divers on Maui? I'd really be interested in meeting them.

Aloha, Tim

Well I do have springs on my fins and I'm on Maui a few weeks a year.....

It'll be nice to not be the only one on the beach with spring straps for a change LOL - Actually I have only been diving with one GUE trained diver so far (BoomX5) but I appreciate their philosophy and would like to spend some more time diving with them and learning more about their approach to teamwork IN ADDITION to all my other dive buddies  but as long as someone is a safe diver I'm thrilled to hit the water with them.

Aloha, Tim

P.S. I am looking forward to diving with you and your wife in May  The guys I've met from ScubaBoard so far have been a very good group to dive with.

Wow...and you still wanna take a DIR-F...are you feeling ok?

Hey Scott -
well you know . . . it almost turned me off to the whole idea  nah - actually diving with you just confirmed what I'd been reading - that I want to aquire those kind of skills in the water - boy they would have come in handy today on my dive at Mala warf - it was very calm, but the surge kept knocking me up against rocks and coral - few small scrapes and such. But it was a beautiful dive - especially the 6ft white tip reef shark (only about 10 feet away) what a beautiful fish. . . hey aren't you issued an "immune to current" card when you pass fundies? LOL
