Hi there!

I want to make a couple of video lights for the fun of it.

The idea is to make a small canister out of aluminum pipe. In the front I'll put a plexiglass disk with an o-ring and a retaining ring, in the back a cap that you can easily open, just like the traditional ones found in canister batteries.
The light won't have any battery, just an e/o cord. I'll have to use a lathe to make the profiles both in the front and the back of the pipe and wonder which thicknesses you I use for the pipe, cap, and front disk? Max depth of 60m should be enough.

Any advice you can give me?

Thx

any schedule 5 pipe would work for the body. its all vastly overrated compared to what you actually need (only 105 psi for 60m). could get away with something as thin as 1 mm if you can find it. plexiglass lens around 6mm is enough for a smaller lens around 50mm or so. if larger, you might want to go up to 8mm or 10mm. cap should match the rest of the body.

the mag lite is an easy mod because the body is already resistant enough. you just have to swap the lens and its good to go.
