Is some resort asking you to get this before letting you dive? Or before certifying you? Or is this just an advertisement you got? Or . . . ?

It sounds like a significant work-up but....

*What is your age?
*Do you have a history of regular physical exams or are you showing up as a first time patient?
*Are there pre-existing conditions or injuries?
* Substance abuse?

Is everyone on the same page that this is for recreational diving?

I'm assuming you're seeking sign-off to take OW?

Pete

That work-up would be rediculous for a healthy young adult seeking OW certification. But for commercial diving, all bets are off. Your employer should be able to refer you to the appropriate physician and they should also pay for the exam.

That's a standard hazardous materials workup. Commercial diving is a type of hazmat work under OSHA. Your employer should be paying for this and have a occupational physician they refer people to.

BTW, at 17 you can't legally do hazmat work yet. You must be 18.

i am 18 in aprill and i have to have all info sent in by end of febuary this is all on pei and i go for medical in ns

If he's going to a commercial diving school in hopes of finding employment afterwards then he owns the bill. I can't imagine that he has a sponsoring employer at 17 unless his dad is in the busineess, in that case he would not be here asking.

PEI, Prince Edward Island , a small Canadian maritine province
NS Nova Scotia

With less than 15 dives are you sure you want to get in this deep this soon?

What is the Canadian equivalent to OSHA?
