Dove St. Ann's Beach in Kennebunkport on Sunday 5/20/12 (as described here: SCUBA Knowtes, Dive Site Guide, St. Ann's Beach).
We had to call the dive short because of the brutal surge we were experiencing. As a result, we drove over an hour for 20 minutes of diving at a max. depth of 16 feet. The site is interesting, as the topography is fantastic with lots of large boulders and resulting 'ravines'. The surf would have to be almost mirror smooth, however, for this site to be feasible.
The good news was that both my buddy and I performed well in tough conditions, including acting rationally in calling the dive short when it became apparent the surge was not going to abate with the minimal depth available at this site.
And now I didn't get my diving fix this weekend so I am wasting my time on ScubaBoard!
