Ive had my Transpac for about 3 years, done a few hunded dives in it with single and twin tanks.
Love it. Very comfortable, honestly i would prefer if it didnt have the plastic clips, but they have never let me down.
Having said that i have never dived with a backplate so will not say its Better. I will say it works for me.
