Dive Shop for Certification in Hilton Head, SC??

Hello,

I will be in Hilton Head, SC the first week of March and would like to get a few recommendations of dive shops that I can get certified through. So far I've only done Island dives (no cert req.) and would like to go for the real thing during the week that I'll be in a warmer climate - I'm from the Northeast..!

No real opportunities in HH. The water is very shallow for a long way out and vis is very poor. You would need to go to Beaufort, SC (30 min) or Charleston (1 hour) to hook up with a good dive shop. Even if you did that, you have to go a looong way out to find any diving worth talking about. Water can get rough...especially for those not accustomed to long rides in boats.

I was just in South Carolina last weekend and went diving for a day. Although all experiences are good in their own right (see my post in Basic Scuba Discussions for the full story), diving in the Hilton Head area is a little like a salt water quarry with waves.
