Hello,

I am trying to decide between diving in Fujairah, UAE or Musandam, Oman this December.
I appreciate any comments about these sites and recommendations for companies.

Thank you!

How long are you planning to dive? A week or a weekend?

Musandam diving requires some planning as you have to cross into Oman from UAE.

UAE diving is less complex and more choice of dive ops

Blue Planet and Palms at Dibba, soon to be joined by Nomad

Divers Down, Al Boom and the dive centre at Sandy Beach Motel

I am only planning to dive for 1-2 days.
Is the diving in Musandam significantly better than Fujairah or are they comparable sites?
I don't mind the extra effort if it is really a nicer location.
Thank you!

If you have the time, I would take Musandam over Fujairah.

As Searcaigh said, main headache with Musandam is the paperwork for crossing at Dibba. This has to be submitted to the UAE border control 3 days before the crossing date. This does only apply to residents though, if you are on a visit visa, no problem crossing

+1 for Musandam, if you can arrange the logistics. Not only the dive sites are superior, they are also significantly less crowded.

Thank you everyone.

Can you recommend or warn against any companies in Musandam?

Depends want you want. Day trips, try Nomad, for 2 night (or longer liveaboards) try Al Marsa or Sheesa Beach
