I will be in Maine from Aug 31st to Sep 4th and was hoping to see what New England Diving is like. I have tried to get in the water there on past vacations but unfortunately for whatever reason it just didn't happen. I'm up for a shore dive or boat dive however since I'm not familiar with the dive sights I would need a buddy. I haven't had any luck finding any real detailed information on either shore or boat diving. Any suggestions to get me pointed in the right direction?

PM Me as the time approaches. I dive regularly in the Cape Elizabeth - Kittery range. The water will be very nice (by Maine standards) at that time. The way SO-CAL talks about cold water you should be right at home. We have over a dozen nice sites in that area. Coming down from Standish there are 3 dive shops in Portland where you can get air/cylinders and anything else you may need.

What temperature is the sea in Maine?

This past weekend I saw from 58F (in some dive spots) to as low as 47F at Nubble light when we went below 25 ft.
