It's our 5th anniversary, so we decided to take a trip south. Do some diving, and play tourist in Ashville Nc. We went out today with Off The Wall Charters in Salem Sc. They took us to the junk, a 65' boat they sank in an area called the wall. The junk is on a wide ledge that is about 65' deep. They call this area the wall because, just off the back of the junk is a wall that drops straight to 175', and then slopes down to around 370' at the bottom. Corrine and I geared up, dropped in and followed lines to the junk. Corrine stayed here, and another Joe on the trip, guided me out to the deep line. He joined me down to150', then I continued on to 200'. Vis at 60' was around 15'. Vis at 200' was around 35'. Temps were 70 at the surface, 52 at 200'. The operation is great, friendly people, who are very helpful, but not intrusive. I would definitely recommend them if your down this way!! Jocassee is great for getting experience, whether tech or rec. Oh, did I mention, the boat ride is only 10 minutes!!

On Sunday we were the only 2 on the boat, they took us out because we had come so far! Trip, the captain used gps to get close, then I splashed to locate the underwater bouy. Found it, tied off, and off we went. The graveyard was cool, and a little spooky. Vis was about 20', temp on bottom was 52. We did 2 dives, 1st 137' for 25 minutes. The second 152' for 15minutes. The shop is great, and the captain exceptional. I have nothing but good things to say about the diving and the operation. Oh, for those that don't know, the graveyard was the last scene in deliverence!!

Glad to hear you had a good time. I did my advanced mix class there. Bill runs a good operation, for sure.

Will you be going out to the Virginia Riviera this weekend. I was looking for dive buddies . The vacation sounds great.
