My personal preferance is a 3 inch flat dive tool, BCD hose connected or a line cutter. I cant see the point in stuff like Cressi Orcas, unless your planning a beach assault with 42 commando or something.
Would like to point out though that in your early days of diving a knife is probably one of the easiest things to lose, so weigh up your options where to have it mounted. If you did lose it you would not be thinking about losing a dive knife, your thoughts would be "losing the dive knife that dad bought me"..
