Today as a mid morning romp on the churned up surf, kind of scared me and swam towards the ventura based boats "nailing" the white seabass of up to 50lbs, fishers!!! Nice. So we get out there to find super healthy lobster, opaleye, rockfish, batrays hangouts!! Massive amounts of calicos but just under legal "fishing" sizes. Sand bass spotty. The time of year, it is building up to be, supporting nicely an all out yellowtail (amberjacks) bonitio (boneheads,) barracuda (scooters) invasions, white sea bass are eating candy!! Watch carefully for the sand bass/calicos to migrate into the flats. When they do it'll be a hodgepodge of fish activity whether you fish or not. Boat in and anchor and get ready for massive photo ops galore.
