Thinking about getting an underwater metal detector and was just wondering if the impulse they put out attracts any sea life (ie; sharks)?

I doubt if this has been tested, you will probably only get speculation. I always assumed they worked on some type of Electromagnetic Field, guess thats what I get for Assuming. Will be interesting to see if anyone chimes in on this.

Whether it does attract sharks, etc. is really a moot point because every chest of treasure will be guarded by several man eating sharks and a giant octopus.

I don't know if the detector attracts sealife, but I do know that if you dig a little in the sand, some smaller fish are curious and will swim over where you are digging, apparently to see what you uncover.
