Having just returned from the Philippines I would like to recognize the Municipalities of Pto Princessa and Anilao for placing a ban on shark landings within their communities, as well a great well done to those individuals who used their passion and determination to ensure these municipalities passed the law to ban shark or parts or sharks landings.
I call up all dive operators in the Philippines to set two BIG GOALS for 2013:
1) advocate in your Municipality or Barangay for a ban on shark or parts of shark landings.
2) put a stop on dropping anchor on dive sites and start the introduction of mooring buoys.

This will have a massive impact on the health of your reefs, abundance and balance of fish and sharks and the future of your business and communities.
If you are aware of any other municipalities/barangays that have placed a ban on shark landings please place it on here and visit your local fishery docks and markets if it is actually being enforced.
Please do your bit for our sharks.:angrymob::angrymob::angrymob: enough is enough.
Hopefully this will result in a national protection for sharks law in the Philippines.

Thank you:shark::shark:
